Dr. DEEPALI JADIA

  • Meet Dr. Deepali Jadia, the Laboratory Manager at ERRL. Dr. Jadia holds a Ph.D. in Life Sciences (Environmental biotechnology) from the Department of Life Sciences, Kalina, University of Mumbai in 2010, and a post-doctorate at NCCS, Pune (2011).

  • Dr. Jadia started her career as a Project Assistant on a DBT sponsored project at the National Chemical Laboratory (NCL), Pune, in 2004. She has five international and two national papers, and a bacterium at the NCBI database in her credit.

  • Dr. Jadia is the Assistant Editor of Asian Journal of Microbiology, Biotechnology and Environmental Sciences (AJMBTES), EM International publication, India, and has also been appointed as a reviewer for the Journal of Hazardous Material, Elsevier Publications. She has one patent filed in her credit and is a member of the New York Academy of Young Scientists, USA, and a BioVision.Nxt 2007 Fellow (France).

  • Dr. Jadia participated in the International Conference “BioVision.Nxt” at Lyon, France, as a ‘class of 2007 fellow’ selected among the five candidates from all over India in March 2007 and 2009. She worked as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Life Sciences and Department of Biotechnology, University of Mumbai, from 2014-2016, where she guided several projects for M.Sc. students.

  • Dr. Jadia has operational experience with analytical instruments like HPLC, GC, and spectrophotometer, and molecular biology techniques, including identification of microorganisms by 16S rRNA gene analysis and genomic DNA library construction.

  • Dr. Jadia’s area of research includes environmental biotechnology, phytoremediation, pesticide bioremediation, wastewater treatment, and biofertilizer. Her vast knowledge and experience in these fields have been instrumental in furthering the research and development activities at ERRL.
